CLIENT CHALLENGE
The IT leadership in this organisation had been struggling with how it should respond to the business demands for better business intelligence (BI), analytical marketing as well as how data and information would be used by IT applications through out the organisation. Significant work had been done over the past few years
DESCRIPTION
The executive responsible knew she had a problem, however, was unsure on the nature of the problem. The first stage of the project involved around 30 1-1 interviews with business and IT. This information was analysed by the CEC project team. One month in to the project, a 1 day workshop was held
Pragmatic recommendations were made which involved insights some that were obvious, some that were new. Action was taken immediately on critical items.
OUTCOMES
A number of insights were gained on issues facing the department relating to information and data, based on a broader perspective involving organisational structures, processes and people issues.
A pragmatic plan with actions that were done immediately.
A roadmap for 2 years based on "top-down" and "bottom-up" activities.
A diagnosis and plan to improve BI capabilities for the business.
Brought various issues to a head (break-through) which had been difficult to solve for some period of time.
Specific insights and recommendations were made on certain topics such as data architecture and project structuring and execution.
